West Ham United defender Winston Reid is a doubt for David Moyes’ first game in charge of the club this weekend.

The Hammers travel to Watford in the Premier League on Sunday and the Daily Mail claim that Reid could miss the game.

The 29-year-old is currently on international duty with New Zealand, who face Peru in a World Cup qualifying play-off on Wednesday.

The defender is not due to arrive back in London until Saturday morning, when he will rush to the club’s training ground to meet his new manager, before being assessed by the medical staff.

Reid has made nine Premier League appearances for the Hammers this season and Moyes will be desperate for him to be available.

Meanwhile, striker Javier Hernandez picked up a hamstring injury on international duty with Mexico and is set to miss the Hammers’ next two games.

West Ham are currently 18th in the Premier League table and have the worst defensive record in the division.

They are without a win in their last four Premier League matches and were beaten 4-1 by Liverpool in their last game.

Meanwhile, Watford are going well under Marco Silva this season and sit ninth in the table, six points ahead of the Hammers, although they have lost their last three matches.

In other West Ham news, Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has been told to study this Hammers striker to improve his game.
