Toby Alderweireld has been given the all-clear to play for Tottenham in their Premier League clash against Everton, according to a report.
The Sun claim the key centre-back did not sustain any serious damage in Spurs’ 4-0 win against Stoke last weekend.
Vertonghen and defensive colleague Jan Vertonghen were both withdrawn during the second half of the Premier League clash at White Hart Lane, with Spurs already four goals ahead and totally dominant.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino insisted afterwards that the pair left the pitch as a “precaution” and he was hopeful they were not facing spells on the sidelines.

The Belgium international is expected to train normally for the rest of the week and be available for selection against Ronald Koeman’s team for Sunday’s clash at White Hart Lane.
Alderweireld missed two months earlier in the season with nerve damage in a leg injury but he has returned to his best form in recent weeks and been a key figure in Spurs’ bid to secure a top-four finish.
Pochettino will not want to lose all-Belgian duo Alderweireld and Vertonghen for any length of period giving how important they have been this season in the meanest backline in the Premier League.
Spurs have conceded just 18 goals from 26 top-flight encounters and their latest clean sheet on Sunday helped secure the three points and lift them back to second in the table.
