Report details major update about two Rangers striker targets

Rangers are not interested in Fleetwood striker Devante Cole or Nottingham Forest forward Jason Cummings, according to a report.
The Daily Record claimed in their live transfer blog on Sunday [02:19pm] that having checked with the Gers about the speculated duo of striker targets, and they have responding by playing down their interest about Cole and saying similar about Cummings.
The Sun reported that the Light Blues were planning to sign up 22-year-old Fleetwood striker Cole on a pre-contract agreement this month ahead of his contract expiring with the English League One side.
While the Sunday Post reported that the Gers were planning to offer Nottingham Forest £1million for Scotland striker Cummings, who is currently out of favour at the City Ground.
The Light Blues are likely to be on the look-out for a new striker to replace Kenny Miller, who is out injured with a hamstring injury, but in a major update it is now understood that neither of the two previously reported targets are wanted at Ibrox.
Football Insider verdict
The news on Cummings will be far more significant to Rangers fans than the news on Cole. The Nottingham Forest striker, who scored 20 goals in each of his last three seasons with Hibs, is the sort of high impact signing that the Light Blues need to make to show that they mean business in the Scottish Premiership and are set to challenge for the title again. Whilst Cole seems like a good prospect, Cummings seems like the real deal, and for now the Gers will be forced on Alfredo Morelos up-front, who has had a good first-half of the season but is also guilty of missing some great chances, most recently in the goal less draw with Celtic.
