Report details Rangers stance on pursuit of 24-year-old after Nemane signs
By Danny Wright
Rangers are likely to cool their interest in Hearts winger Jamie Walker in the wake of Aaron Nemane’s arrival from Manchester City, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claims that unless Nemane, 19, hits the ground running in his loan spell at Ibrox, the Light Blues are likely to continue their pursuit of Walker, 24, who has had a £1million price tag slapped on his head by Hearts.
It is understood that Rangers have had two bids rejected for the former Scotland Under-21 international, but they could sign him on a pre-contract deal in January as he is in the final year of his contract at Tynecastle.
The attacker made his first league appearance of the season for Hearts when they played Rangers last weekend in a game that ended goalless.
Walker is yet to show his quality this term but last season he managed to score 15 goals and supply seven assists in 43 appearances across all competitions

With Nemane’s loan deal set to expire in January, Rangers should not give up total hope of signing Walker. Pedro Caixinha’s squad could do with some extra Scottish players on board and Walker is someone who could potentially be playing in the national team in a a couple of years’ time if he secures a move to someone like Rangers. The Light Blues are right to not meet Hearts’ £1million asking price, mainly because they can get their man for next to nothing next year if they wait it out and hope that no one else comes in for him. It may be worth to wait until deadline day and see if Hearts will budge from their asking price. They may be looking to sell by then.
