Report details where Poch will play Lamela and which Tottenham player he will replace
A report by football.london has revealed which position forward Erik Lamela could play for Tottenham, now he has returned from injury.
The 25-year-old finally made his return to first-team action for Spurs in the 2-1 Premier League defeat at Leicester on Tuesday after missing 13 months with a serious hip problem.
The Argentine showed that he has not lost his creative spark, assisting a goal for Harry Kane just 76 seconds after coming on as a second-half substitute.
The report says that Lamela could play out wide or in the central attacking midfield position and possibly replace Christian Eriksen, who manager Pochettino said was suffering from “fatigue”.
Eriksen has started every Premier League match and every Champions League match apart from one for Spurs this season.
The also report states that if Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino decides to revert to the 4-2-3-1 formation, the three attacking midfield players Lamela, Eriksen and Dele Alli will dovetail to keep the opposition guessing, behind centre-forward Kane.
