Insider: In-demand wonderkid arrives at Leeds ahead of potential transfer, English giants circling
Leeds United have taken young Glenavon goalkeeper Conner Byrne on trial as they look to stave off interest from English giants, according to a reliable insider.
Twitter account Scouts in Attendance, who have established themselves as a reliable source of inside information regarding scouting and transfers, claim that the Whites have seen the 14-year-old arrive at the club to assess him ahead of a potential transfer.

It is claimed by the Mirror that a whole host of English giants, including Tottenham, Manchester United and Everton, are keen on snapping up the wonderkid, who is already playing first team football for Glenavon in the Irish League.
He made his debut for the first team last month in the club’s victory over Portadown, and is a Northern Ireland under-16 international.
Football Insider verdict
Byrne seems to be one of the brightest prospects around right now, and Leeds appear to have made an early move to try and secure his services. There is no doubt that none of the English clubs will be willing to offer him anything close to first team football at the moment, so it will be down to the player to decide which side is going to be best for his own development. Perhaps Leeds taking a risk so early will sway it in their favour, but they face a fierce fight with some of English football’s biggest names to secure his signature. Plus there is every chance his promise is just a flash in the pan, but that is something that anyone will have to take a risk on.
