Report reveals shock return for Newcastle outcast as fringe man makes surprise request
By Russell Edge
Newcastle United outcast Jack Colback will make a return to action for the club when the club’s reserve side go up against against Blackburn Rovers on Friday, according to a report.
The Chronicle claim on their website that the 27-year-old is set to make a start for the under-23 side, having failed to make an appearance in any of the senior side’s squads this season.
Colback also appeared to have fallen out of favour with reserve team coach Peter Beardsley, having been snubbed for several matches despite being eligible to play, which makes his reported appearance on Friday a real shock.
Since joining from Sunderland on a free transfer from fierce rivals Sunderland, he has made 102 appearances for the club, including 34 last season.
Another man set to line up for the Magpies clash with Rovers is winger Rolando Aarons, who reportedly requested a stint in the reserve side to prove himself to boss Rafael Benitez.

The Jamaican-born winger has made one appearance for the club this season, in their defeat to Nottingham Forest in the League Cup, and also has two Premier League 2 appearances playing for the reserve side.
Aarons has 23 appearances for the senior side at St James’ Park, with four goals and three assists to his name.
In other Newcastle United news, Benitez has been handed a huge blow before the club’s clash with Crystal Palace.
