Report: West Ham to sign player imminently as bid for international tabled, top-flight title-winner also in talks
West Ham will sign another midfielder before the January window closes, according to a report.
Sky claim on their transfer blog (7.23am) that sources have told them another deal will take place, with a number of names on the cards.
Chief among these is Fulham sensation Tom Cairney and Sky claim that West Ham have had a £15m bid rejected by Fulham.
The attacking midfielder impressed in the Championship last season, scoring 12 goals and adding 11 assists in 45 league appearances.
The 27-year-old has played for Scotland and would be keen on a move to a top-flight club.
West Ham are also in talks for Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker.
His club value him at £25million but Sky claim that West Ham do not think he is worth £20million, which might make that deal tougher to close.
Dendoncker has won the Belgian Jupiler Pro League with Anderlect.
Football Insider verdict:
Exciting news for West Ham fans with a fairly emphatic report from Sky claiming that another midfielder will be joining before the end of the January transfer window. Tom Cairney would be a fantastic addition, as would Dendoncker, but it seems that things are more advanced with the Championship player. With the loan move for Joao Mario almost complete, manager David Moyes will be pretty pleased with his January business.
In other West Ham transfer news, the club are looking at snapping up a £25million rated striker available for £5million in January.
