Danijel Arnautovic, the brother and agent of West Ham attacker Marko Arnautovic, has held initial talks with Inter Milan over a deal this summer, according to a report.
Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio made the claim on his website, saying that Inter are looking for new players.
He went on to say that Danijel Arnautovic had offered the West Ham player to Inter but that the deal would only happen under “certain circumstances”.
Football Insider verdict:
This isn’t good news for West Ham fans. It’s been a hugely positive summer so far, with Manuel Pellegrini coming in and new players arriving and big names linked on a daily basis. Losing arguably their best player from last season would be a massive blow. In a troubled season for the team, Arnautovic powered into top form in the second half of the season, scoring 11 goals in 31 games and adding six assists. All of his 11 Premier League goals came from December onwards, and he would b every hard to replace. Arnautovic has played at Inter before – he went there on loan from FC Twente in 2009 but it didn’t work out for him and he only made three appearances for the Nerazzurri. He might think that he’s got unfinished business there, but West Ham fans will be hoping Pellegrini shows his tough side and stamps down on this before it’s too late. Arnautovic is under contract until 2022 so the club has no imperative to sell him.
