Wolves have joined Everton in the race to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on a free transfer this summer and have already tabled an offer, according to a report.
The Mirror claim on their website that the Molineux outfit have put together an attractive package for the England international and have put forward their offer for the ace, whose contract is set to run out this summer after so far failing to agree to new terms at the Emirates.
Wilshere, 26, is currently said to be earning earn £110,000-a-week with the North London club and is claimed to have been initially offered a new contract which would see him earn a lower basic wage, at £90,000-a-week but includes a number of lucrative incentives.
However, with all the interest the Stevenage-born star is getting, the Gunners have reportedly increased their offer by £10,000-a-week as they bid to keep him at the club.
Football Insider verdict:
What a signing this would be for Nuno Espirito Santo if he could pull it off. The Arsenal midfielder’s influence has grown in the centre of the park since recovering from his latest injury and he is now on to six assists for the season. Bagging a first-teamer from one of the Premier League’s top sides would be a coup for sure and one which would signal where Wolves are heading with Fosun’s millions at their fingertips. Fans will already be imagining the England star lining up alongside Ruben Neves – if he stays this summer – and it would be one of the most exciting partnerships in the English top-flight.
