Reportedly available for £16m: Why Tottenham must move for PL star to replace 22-year-old

Tottenham would take a mammoth leap towards securing Premier League glory by adding serious competition to Harry Kane, and Newcastle’s Aleksander Mitrovic could be that man.

The Evening Chronicle claim the striker is available for £16million, after Ligue 1 giants Lyon were quoted the figure after submitting their interest.

Turkish duo Besiktas and Fenerbahce are also said to be interested in the faltering Serbia international, who struggled to find his shooting boots last season.

Spurs are yet to complete a signing this summer but are expected to eventually delve into the transfer window, after selling right-back Kyle Walker for a huge £54million to Man City.

Football Insider believes that a surprise move to sign former Anderlecht striker Mitrovic could be the perfect buy, with Spurs in need of a top replacement if Kane is unavailable.
