Revealed: Celtic £25m Kyogo plan
Celtic will demand £25million from any club interested in signing star striker Kyogo Furuhashi this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (26 June) that new boss Brendan Rodgers does not want to allow the 28-year-old to leave the club this summer.
Celtic will try and ward off would-be suitors with a hefty price tag that would match their record sale.
Premier League newcomers Burnley have become the latest side to be linked with a summer move for Furuhashi.
However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that his £25million asking price is likely to be “too rich” for the Clarets.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (7 June) that Furuhashi also has interest from Premier League trio Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace – as well as Serie A and Bundesliga clubs.
It was also revealed that Celtic have held early talks over a new contract for the hitman in a bid to keep him at the club after another goal-laden season in Scotland.
Furuhashi’s current deal is set to expire in May 2025.
Scottish Player of the Year Furuhashi scored 34 times in the 2022-23 campaign and was the standout player for Celtic as they won a domestic treble.
Rodgers is keen to keep the striker at the club past the transfer deadline as he bids to transform the Parkhead outfit into a force to be reckoned with in Europe.

Celtic have made just one summer signing in the window so far.
20-year-old midfielder Odin Thiago Holm has arrived from Norweigan club Valerenga on a permanent basis.
