Andre Gomes is closing in on a permanent move to Everton after agreeing the terms of a £120,000-a-week contract, Football Insider understands.
The Merseysiders are locked in negotiations with Barcelona over the structure of a deal that is set to be worth over £25million.
A Spanish source has told Football Insider that Gomes’ camp have settled personal terms with the club after he was offered a deal that will catapult him into the top bracket of earners at Goodison.
The Toffees’ highest-paid players include 2018 signings Yerry Mina, Richarlison and Bernard, along with Jordan Pickford, Theo Walcott and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Barcellona are keen to get £30million for the central midfielder, who was on the fringes of their side before joining Everton on loan last summer.
Gomes, 25, made an excellent impression at Goodison, with a series of classy performances and he established a fine partnership in central midfield with Idrissa Gueye.
He has also attracted interest from West Ham, who have lodged a £21million bid, as well as Tottenham, but Everton are now in pole position to sign him this window.
