Revealed: How much Richarlison could earn after quitting Tottenham

Tottenham forward Richarlison has largely failed to impress during his three-year spell in north London.

Richarlison joined Spurs in a £60million deal from Everton in the summer of 2022, but he has struggled to nail down a starting spot following his inconsistent form.

Tottenham fans urged Thomas Frank to never start Richarlison again following his performance against Newcastle United on Wednesday (29 October).

Tottenham were beaten 2-0 by Eddie Howe’s side in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, with the Brazil international playing 78 minutes at St James’ Park.

Richarlison, who is under contract until June 2027, has started in 10 of his 15 appearances for Frank’s side this season, registering three goals and two assists.

MLS club make move to sign Richarlison

Richarlison was linked with a Tottenham exit in the summer transfer window, but he remained in north London.

That hasn’t stopped the rumours around his future from circulating, with Fabrizio Romano reporting on 8 October Orlando City want to sign Richarlison in the summer of 2026 in a deal worth around £30m.

The Italian journalist said the MLS side have presented their project to the 28-year-old’s camp as they look to persuade him to make the move to the US.

Tottenham sold Son Heung-min to Los Angeles FC for around £20m in the recent summer transfer window, surpassing the record-breaking £17m fee fellow MLS side Atlanta United paid to sign Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough in February.

Son’s wages at LAFC have now been revealed after the MLS Players Association has released its 2025 Salary Guide, with the numbers broken down into each players’ base salary and guaranteed compensation.

The former Tottenham captain earns a base salary of £7.9m a year and a guaranteed compensation of £8.5m before performance-related bonuses are included.

That makes Son the second-highest paid player in the MLS behind Lionel Messi, who rakes in a £9.1m base salary per year and a guaranteed compensation of £15.6m at Inter Miami

How much does Richarlison earn at Tottenham?

While it’s unclear precisely how much Richarlison could earn if he were to move to the US, he would undoubtedly be one of the MLS’ best-paid stars due to his profile.

The highest-paid player at Orlando City is veteran forward Luis Muriel, who earns a £1.5m base salary and a guaranteed compensation of £3.1m.

TEAMTALK reported on 17 September Richarlison’s current deal at Tottenham is worth £90,000 a week or £4.7m a year, with a move to Florida potentially offering him a higher salary.

In terms of alternative options, Richarlison has received interest from Saudi clubs, but it’s currently unclear whether he’s open to a move to the Middle East.

Everton have also been linked with re-signing Richarlison as David Moyes looks to strengthen his attacking options in the January transfer window.
