Revealed: Morgan Gibbs-White’s updated stance on Nottingham Forest exit

Morgan Gibbs-White has been heavily linked with a move away from Nottingham Forest since the summer window with speculation growing once more.

The England international scored as Sean Dyche’s side beat Leeds United 3-1 last time out, continuing on his recent impressive vein of form.

Gibbs-White rejected Tottenham in favour of signing a new deal with Forest during the summer, as he put pen to paper on a contract to extend his stay until 2028.

However, that has done little to ease rumours surrounding his long-term future, as Matt Le Tissier told Football Insider that Man City could return for Gibbs-White.

Pep Guardiola‘s side have been long-term admirers of his, while Forest’s struggles so far this season have led to claims that a number of key players could leave.

Morgan Gibbs-White is happy at Nottingham Forest

Despite renewed speculation about his future, however, Gibbs-White is believed to be happy at Forest where he remains a crucial part of their ambitious plans.

The midfielder has scored in each of his last two Premier League games, and in Forest’s 2-0 win against Porto, and already seems to be thriving under Dyche.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Gibbs-White is unlikely to entertain talks about his future any time soon.

There’s been so much talk about Gibbs-White,” he told Football Insider.

“That sort of pressure that comes with transfer speculation can affect players in a good way and a bad way, and too often it’s a bad way.

“But he made the decision to stay at Nottingham Forest, he turned down Tottenham to sign a new contract, and he’s getting on with his job there.

“I don’t think it’s had a negative impact on him at all, he looks happy there and now he’s scoring goals and making a difference for the team again.

“I think it’s fair to say Forest suit him and he suits them, it’s one of those where being the main man in a side seems to be the ideal situation for him.

“The environment there suits him, he’s a leader in the squad, and he’s still impressing.

“By all accounts, he’s happy at Forest and I expect his focus will be on turning their season around, rather than any more speculation about transfers.”

Nottingham Forest stars concerned by manager changes

Brown told Football Insider on 7 October that Nottingham Forest players are not happy behind the scenes, with many left disillusioned by this season’s constant changes.

Alongside the growing uncertainty, there were suggestions that, Forest could be at risk of losing key players including the likes of Elliot Anderson and Gibbs-White.

However, Gibbs-White is happy with Dyche’s arrival following suggestions that the squad were less than impressed by Postecoglou during his time at the City Ground.

Anderson is another midfielder to have been heavily linked away from Forest as a result of their frustrating start to the season.

However, Football Insider revealed on 24 October that Dyche has no plans to lose Anderson and wants to keep him at the club beyond the January window.
