Left-sided flyer delivers Twitter message after agreeing terms with Rangers

Myles Beerman has signed a new deal with Rangers and has posted a Twitter message to fans saying that he’s “delighted”.

Beerman, along with Brian Kinnear, both signed new contracts that will extend their stay with the club until 2019.

The news was officially confirmed on the Rangers Youth Academy Twitter page on Monday.

Beerman followed that up with a Twitter message of his own to fans on Tuesday morning.

Football Insider verdict:

Well this is a surprise. When he returned early from an underwhelming loan spell at Queen of the South, it looked like his Ibrox career was over. His contract was set to expire in May but Beerman has been given a shock reprieve, earning another 12 months to prove himself under Steven Gerrard. No wonder he’s delighted – if he’s going to have any chance at Rangers you’d think it would be under the watchful eye of Gerrard, who has done good things with the Liverpool youth side. Beerman had promised much when he broke through into the first team last season, playing at left-back, but he never seemed to push on. Now he’ll have a year to ensure he’s not consigned to the scrapheap and that he can produce at the sort of level that Gerrard will demand. We wish him all the best.
