Manager Leonid Slutsky has boldly claimed that Wolves are the “best team in the league” after they beat his Hull City side on Tuesday night.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team continued their unbeaten start to the Championship campaign as they came away with a hard-fought 3-2 win at the KCOM Stadium.
Goals from new summer signings Diego Jota and Ruben Neves along with a last-minute strike from Nouha Dicko sealed the three points as Wolves remain one of the three teams in the league to win all of their opening matches.
Speaking after the match, as quoted in the Express and Star, rival boss Slutsky believes that Wolves are head and shoulders above the teams in the division.
“I think, in my opinion, we played against the best team in the league,” he said.
“I researched all the teams in the Championship and Wolves for me, in this moment, are the best team.”
Wolves have enjoyed a sensational start to the new campaign under new boss Nuno as they have picked up victories in their opening four matches in all competitions, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
Nuno enjoyed a similar run of form with former side Porto last season as they only lost two matches throughout the league campaign.
They will have the chance to extend their winning streak and head the league table when they welcome current leaders Cardiff City to Molineux this weekend.
