'Only thing that matters' – Robbie Savage takes swipe at West Ham fans
By Laura O’Leary
Robbie Savage has given his backing to David Moyes at West Ham, and says fans need to focus on results not the way the team plays, or face relegation.
In his latest column for the Daily Mirror, the former footballer has given his opinion on the reaction to Moyes to taking over at the Hammers and that fans should focus not on the performances.
He wrote: “Moyes’ appointment at West Ham has not been afforded a rapturous welcome by the supporters, and in terms of results his career has been near-disastrous since he left Everton, but I like the guy and I happen to think the Hammers have chosen well.
“When you are in the bottom three, it’s crazy to talk about playing the ‘West Ham way’ – whatever that means.
“The only thing that matters, for now, is staying in the Premier League.”

Moyes was appointed West Ham boss on November 7 after the club opted to sack Slaven Bilic after the poor start to the season.
West Ham currently linger in the relegation zone, placed 18th in the Premier League.
After 11 games played, the Hammers have only achieved nine points, scoring 11 goals and conceding 23 goals in the process.
Bilic’s last game in charge saw Liverpool defeat West Ham 4-1, which made it four league games without a win for the Hammers.
Despite failing to win any of their last four league games, West Ham did come from behind to defeat Tottenham 3-2 in the League Cup on October 25.
Moyes’ first game in charge will be after the international break against Watford at Vicarage Road.
In other West Ham news, this club senior figure has criticised their summer signings in the wake of Bilic’s sacking.
