Robbie Savage: Tottenham ace is worth 15 times his original fee

By Dominic Toner

Robbie Savage claims that Tottenham ace Dele Alli is already worth 15 times the £5million the club paid to sign him in 2015.

Spurs completed the signing of the attacking midfielder from MK Dons and he has gone on to enjoy a meteoric rise in the past two seasons.

He is now considered one of the most important player for the north London club and is also a regular starter for England.

Savage believes that Alli’s price tag has soared since his arrival in the Premier League and named him in his team of the season.

He also made a comparison to ex-Spurs player Bale and feels he will follow in his footsteps by completing a mega-money move away from White Hart Lane.

“Apart from his finishing, he was the best player on the pitch in Dortmund (against Germany) on Wednesday night.,” Savage wrote in the Daily Mirror. “I believe he will be the next Gareth Bale – English football’s next big-money move to one of Europe’s richest clubs, like Barcelona or Real Madrid.

“It’s incredible to think Spurs only paid £5 million for him a couple of years ago, because he’s already worth 15 times as much, and his value is rising fast.”

Alli has turned into one of the outstanding player in England’s top-flight in such a short space of time and won the PFA Young Player of the Year last season.

The playmaker made 46 appearances across all competitions during his first year with Spurs, scoring 10 goals and supplying 11 assists.

He has managed to get even better this season, scoring 17 goals and supplying eight assists in just 39 appearances so far.

Alli already has a lot of pressure on his shoulders for a 20-year-old and is proving that he can handle it.
