Celtic will not re-sign Jonjoe Kenny from Everton this summer unless the new manager is a big admirer of him.
That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the prospect of the 24-year-old returning to Parkhead next season.
Kenny produced a dismal display on Sunday, as the Hoops were beaten 4-1 by Glasgow rivals Rangers at Ibrox.
The right-back won just 36 per cent of his duels and completed just 25 per cent of his crosses in the loss. (Wyscout)
He has been a regular starter for Celtic since joining on loan from Everton in February, with four assists in his 14 appearances.
When asked if Kenny had done enough to warrant a permanent or second loan move to Parkhead, Robinson told Football Insider:
“I think the return to Everton is inevitable right now unless the new manager decides he wants to re-sign him.
“It is a bit like Tottenham in that sense. You cannot give a definitive answer on ins and outs until you know who the manager is going to be. At the end of the day, they will be the one making the decisions.
“But it was worrying how far Celtic looked behind Rangers on Sunday.
“There needs to be wholesale changes. They need a new manager and the squad needs an overhaul.
“If they don’t get things right this summer Rangers could dominate for a few years.”
