Robinson: There’s more to Lo Celso and Romero story after Sky’s ‘unbelievable’ Tottenham update

Paul Robinson has claimed “there is more to come out” about Tottenham duo Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso’s trip to Argentina.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said he “cannot believe for one second” that the club did not know about the players’ international committments.

According to Sky Sports (September 7th), Lo Celso and Romero are set to be fined by Spurs after joining up with Argentina without permission.

The players are said to have travelled to South America for games against Venezuela and Brazil against the club’s wishes.

The pair are set to miss fixtures against Crystal Palace and Rennes as a result of their actions.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the news, Robinson said: “There is definitely more to come out from this.

“I cannot believe for one second that two players left for international duty without Spurs knowing.

“Spurs would have found out a week ago when they were not at training. Players will get a couple of days off during an international break but they will be training through the week. Spurs will have known they’d gone away long before the team news was announced for that game.

“I think there is a lot more to come out from this story. There’s no way it would have taken Spurs a week to find out Romero and Lo Celso were with Argentina.”
