Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he thinks Kieran Tierney and Anthony Ralston performed “exceptionally well” against Paris Saint-Germain during their Champions League clash on Tuesday despite the 5-0 defeat.
Ralston, 18, and Tierney, 20, impressed the Hoops manager during their European match as they stepped up to play in the full-back spots in Rodgers’ starting XI.
Five goals crashed into the net from PSG stars Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edison Cavani in addition to an own goal from Celtic defender Mikael Lustig.
Despite the result Rodgers was impressed with the defensive duo’s efforts.
“For our boys to play up against them, hold their own and do so well, I was very pleased,” he said, as quoted by Celtic’s their official Twitter account during a pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s clash with Partick..

Ralston has been called upon during some of the opening games of the season and faced Kilmarnock and St. Johnstone in the Premiership as well as featuring in the club’s Scottish League Cup match and Champions League qualifiers against Astana.
The teenager displayed fire on the pitch during Tuesday’s defeat and didn’t seem fazed as he clashed with the world’s most expensive player, Neymar.
Tierney similarly put in a tough fight throughout the match and has featured in every single one of Celtic’s games this season across all competitions.
Rodgers will be looking ahead to continue his side’s unbeaten run in the Premiership when they face Ross County on Saturday.
