Koeman posts Twitter verdict ahead of Everton FA Cup clash vs Leicester

By Will Butcher

Ronald Koeman believes his Everton side are prepared and set to face Leicester on Saturday after tweeting, “We are ready for it”.

Manager Koeman will be hoping his side can secure a safe passage into the fourth round of the FA Cup, after Paul Merson named the Toffees as his favourites for the competition.

Koeman, 53, claimed on his personal Twitter account that the Toffees have what it takes to secure victory against Premier League champions Leicester in the third round of the FA Cup.

Koeman will take his side to the King Power Stadium in buoyant mood after beating Claudio Ranieri’s side 2-0 on Boxing Day thanks to goals from Kevin Mirallas and Romelu Lukaku.

The Merseyside giants will be looking to maintain their eye-catching home form at Goodison Park, which has seen them lose just once in seven games on their own turf.

Putting their disappointing form in the EFL Cup behind them after a third-round loss to Championship outfit Norwich, Koeman will be hoping his side can go all the way.

But with a difficult test against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City around the corner on January 15, the Dutchman could be tempted to rest a number of senior stars against the Foxes.

In other Everton news, fans have reacted on Twitter to the latest speculation surrounding Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
