Ronald Koeman posts Twitter message after Everton victory v Burnley

By Harvey Byrne

Manager Ronald Koeman remarked on Twitter that the the display from Everton after the first half an hour against Burnley is what he likes to see from his team.

The Toffees ran out a 3-1 victory against the Lancashire club at Goodison Park on Saturday with goals coming from Phil Jagielka and Romelu Lukaku alongside a Ben Mee own goal to cancel out a Sam Vokes penalty.

However, despite the scoreline it was not a perfect display from the Toffees and the Merseysiders went in at half-time level at 0-0.

Koeman alluded to the fact on his personal Twitter account on Saturday evening and while he stated it was a good win he shared that it was only after the first 30 minutes that he saw the Everton team he liked.

The win on Saturday has meant that Everton are now sat in fifth place and six points away from Liverpool in fourth having played just one match more.

With just five matches of the season left for the Toffees it will present a tough ask for them to finish in the top four of the Premier League, but a top six finish would signal a successful first season in charge for Koeman after a couple of mediocre seasons under Roberto Martinez.
