Ronaldo Vieira sends message after Leeds win against Birmingham

By Amir Mir

Ronaldo Vieira expressed his delight on Twitter as Leeds beat Birmingham 3-1 at St Andrew’s on Friday night.

Midfielder Vieira was absent for the match with it being suggested that the youngster was being rested by the club.

Nonetheless, in his absence, Eunan O’Kane and Liam Briducutt started in the midfield roles as their side claimed a valuable three points in their race for promotion.

Striker Chris Wood opened the scoring on the night, producing a lovely dink over the Blues keeper in the first half.

The away team were very sloppy after that, not being able to string passes together before they were punished by Craig Gardner.

However, the Whites showed their promotion form when Wood struck three minutes after the equaliser before substitute Alfonso Pedraza scored and made sure of all three points with nine minutes left on the clock.

Here was Vieira’s message during his side’s win against the Blues as posted on his personal Twitter account.

As a result of that win, the Yorkshire club remain in fourth place, but they have opened up an 11 point gap on seventh-placed Fulham.

The London-based club have two games in hand on Monk’s side and they will host Preston North End at Craven Cottage at the weekend.

The Whites will then travel to London to take on the Cottagers in an important Championship clash on Tuesday night.
