Rose delivers verdict on Tottenham fringe man, identifies unbelievable attribute

By Harvey Byrne

Danny Rose believes that Tottenham fringe player Kieran Trippier was “brilliant”against Watford on Sunday afternoon.

The 26-year-old full-back came into the team for star player Kyle Walker with the England international missing the clash through a suspension.

It marked only Trippier’s eighth appearance of the campaign in all competitions, but he took his opportunity with both hands in the 4-1 victory, setting up Harry Kane’s first two goals.

Star performer Rose was left impressed by the former England Under-21 international and believes that Trippier has “unbelievable” ball delivery.

“I do feel for Kieran a little bit, with Kyle being outstanding all season and he’s pushed on to another level,” said Rose, as quoted by the Independent.

“I thought he was brilliant (against Watford). If there’s one thing I always say to Kieran and about Kieran is that his delivery is unbelievable.

“The ball for Harry’s second goal is no fluke. He does that every day in training and I’m over the moon for him.

“Kieran is probably one of the nicest people I’ve come across in football and for him to get his chance today, it’s great that he’s taken it.”

Trippier made the switch to White Hart Lane in the summer of 2015 in a £3.5million deal from Burnley.

However, given the form of first choice Walker he has played in just 27 encounters in all competitions.

The 22-time capped England international isn’t showing any signs of regressing anytime soon either and has been considered one of the best full-backs in the league this campaign.

Walker and Rose have caused problems to many in the Premier League this season, while also proving solid at the back.

They have been key reasons for why the north London side are flying high in fourth place this season.

In other Tottenham news, Kane was also full of praise for Trippiers performance against Watford.
