Ruben Amorim gives Man United ultimatum after dreadful Man City defeat
Ruben Amorim challenged the Manchester United hierarchy in astonishing fashion after his side lost 3-0 to rivals Manchester City.
Phil Foden opened the scoring in the first half, and Man United fans aimed their frustrations at Bruno Fernandes for his role in the opener for the hosts.
Roy Keane highlighted Luke Shaw’s attitude in the build up to Foden’s goal, and it was Shaw who was beaten to the through ball by Erling Haaland, who doubled the score for Man City.
Gary Neville sang the praises of Haaland who doubled his tally, tripling City’s lead, to sink United further into the mire.

Ruben Amorim offers Manchester United ultimatum
Amorim hit the headlines for outlandish comments in the build up to Man United’s match against Burnley, and it was more of the same after today’s defeat.
The Portuguese head coach spoke to the media after the defeat and aimed an incredible challenge towards the Man United board.

Amorim, via Fabrizio Romano, said: “I will do everything I can for Man United. This is my message to the fans. I’m suffering more than them”.
The head coach continued: “I won’t change my philosophy. If they [INEOS] want it changed, you change the man”.
Manchester United face another season of turmoil
Twelve months ago, it was Erik ten Hag’s tenure at Old Trafford that was looking in jeopardy, with Amorim the eventual successor to Ten Hag, having a similar worry a year on.
Amorim has won just one of his first five games this season, needing a last-gasp penalty to squeeze past Burnley ahead of the international break.

Four points from four games sees Amorim’s side sitting 14th in table after a miserable start to the season got even worse against Man City.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe will hope for a serious upturn in United’s form through September and October with the aim of avoiding any uncomfortable conversations with his first major hire, since taking over footballing operations at Man United.
