‘Ruben Amorim should be sacked’ – Man United fans explode at star’s treatment

Man United fans turned their frustrations on Ruben Amorim as the team suffered another setback, with Alejandro Garnacho’s performance coming under heavy criticism.

Man United endured their 13th league defeat of the season after falling 1-0 to Nottingham Forest on 1 April.

Former United winger Anthony Elanga scored the only goal of the game, bursting past Garnacho with a powerful solo run before finding the net.

Garnacho’s display drew criticism from Man United supporters, with many questioning his place in the squad and even calling for the Argentine to be sold in the summer.

Despite his struggles, Amorim has continued to back the youngster, keeping faith in him throughout the season—even as he only recently ended a 24-game goal drought.

The manager’s decision to leave Garnacho on for the full 90 minutes against Forest added to fans’ frustration, with many directing their anger at Amorim for persisting with the out-of-form winger.

Man United fans lose patience with Alejandro Garnacho

The Argentine has endured an inconsistent season despite being a regular in the side.

Earlier in the campaign, he had a fallout with Amorim after being dropped for the Manchester derby but has since regained his spot under the Portuguese coach.

However, Man United fans have repeatedly called out Garnacho for his displays, especially with links to a potential exit in the January transfer window.

Garnacho was considered in a potential swap deal with Chelsea, which would have seen Christopher Nkunku move to Old Trafford.

However, with both clubs already sending players such as Marcus Rashford and Joao Felix out on loan, no agreement was reached.

His luck against Nottingham Forest didn’t improve, as he failed to impress with all of his six shots going off target, in another lacklustre performance in a poor season for the winger.

Ruben Amorim under pressure over stubborn selection choices

Amorim has already faced criticism for consistently starting Rasmus Hojlund despite the striker’s struggles this season, and the same sentiment now applies to Garnacho.

With United languishing in 13th place, Man United fans have called for Amorim to be sacked, and those demands have only grown louder after his decision to start Garnacho and keep him on for the entire match against Forest despite his underwhelming display.

One fan wrote: “You surely don’t win games by playing Garnacho. 10000% on Amorim” while another added: “If Amorim advocates to keep Garnacho for next season he needs to be sacked”.
