Ryan Kent tipped to sign new Rangers deal after source’s update – expert
Alan Hutton has backed Ryan Kent to sign a new deal at Rangers if Michael Beale takes the manager’s job.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers right-back insisted Beale knows how to get the best out of Kent and could encourage the 26-year-old to pen a new deal.
The winger’s current contract expires in the summer and he is yet to sign an extension after rejecting a new contract last month.
On Friday (25 November) sources told this site that Beale is still the number one choice of Ibrox director of football Ross Wilson after Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s departure.
QPR have received an official approach for the manager, who spent three years as a first-team coach at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard.
When asked if Kent might look to stay at Rangers if Beale is appointed, Hutton told Football Insider: “Possibly.
“I think it really depends on who is leaving. He obviously knows Michael Beale really well. I think Ryan Kent was playing at a high level under Steven Gerrard and Michael Beale.
“It was his best numbers in terms of goals and assists when they were there. So he knows how to get the best out of him.
“I think if somebody like that was to come back into the building it would maybe give him the edge to go and prove himself under someone he likes working with.

“He would possibly stay. If somebody comes in that he doesn’t know, it might be a time for the likes of Kent to go.
“The overall worrying factor for me is that so many players are out of contract and going into their last year. Recruitment has to be better, it has not been good enough up to this point so it is a huge job for whoever comes in. It is going to be very difficult.“
