Ryan Sessegnon to quit Tottenham and join new club next month – sources

Ryan Sessegnon will leave Tottenham on a free once his contract expires at the end of June, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the 24-year-old will likely join a new club next month as he looks to get his career back on track.

The left-back has endured a torrid time with injuries since his reported £25million move from Fulham in 2019, having played just seven minutes of football throughout the past season.

O’Rourke admitted Spurs will be “disappointed” to see the former England youth international leave the club on a free after failing to reach his full potential over the past few years.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month the north London club are looking to sign at least four players this summer as Ange Postecoglou aims to add to his defensive options.

Ryan Sessegnon to leave Tottenham on free this summer

Sessegnon has been put through the wringer since joining Tottenham after several hamstring issues have stalled his development.

The left-back, who can also play on the left wing, was previously seen as one of the brightest English talents after putting in several eye-catching performances for Fulham.

But he’s only made 57 appearances for Spurs over the past five years, including just one seven-minute cameo this season in the FA Cup victory over Burnley earlier this year.

Sessegnon is now expected to leave north London once his contact expires next month as he looks to embark on a new challenge elsewhere.

Tottenham

It comes as part of several expected changes at Tottenham this summer following Postecoglou’s scathing comments surrounding the “rebuild” of his side.

Football insider revealed earlier this month Spurs will listen to offers for Emerson Royal, Richarlison, Joe Rodon, Sergio Reguilon, Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gil, Djed Spence, Japhet Tanganga and Tanguy Ndombele as the Australian manager looks to stamp his authority on the squad.

In other news, Tottenham have been told to sack Rodrigo Bentancur after what he did.
