Sadio Mane deal 'will get done' for £42.5m after journalist's Liverpool update - pundit

Bayern Munich will bow to Liverpool and agree a £42.5million deal for Sadio Mane this summer.

That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 30-year-old’s future at Anfield.

Mane has little over 12 months remaining on his contract on Merseyside.

Bayern Munich are leading the chase for his signature as they look to replace the seemingly exit-bound Robert Lewandowski.

Liverpool have rejected two bids from the Bundesliga giants so far.

According to the Daily Mail‘s Simon Jones (10 June), the Reds expect Bayern Munich to meet their £42.5million valuation in their third bid.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: “Liverpool know Bayern have the money to pay them.

“The player wants to go which is huge. Liverpool are in a strong position with the negotiations. Bayern have made it quite clear that Mane is their priority this summer.

“A new contract doesn’t appear to be on the cards now. Mane could face the prospect of sitting out for 12 months at a club he wants to leave if Bayern don’t pay. That’s why I think it’ll get done.

“Liverpool are in a strong position. For a player of that quality, even though he only has a year on his deal, it’s not too much.

“I’m sure it’s a deal that will get done. It suits all parties that a deal gets done, especially now that Darwin Nunez has come in.”
