Liverpool are in the hunt to sign yet another Egypt international after setting their sights on Stoke City forward Ramadan Sobhi, according to a report.
TeamTalk claims that Mohamed Salah has told Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff that Liverpool should sign Sobhi, 21, in the summer despite him making just nine Premier League starts for Stoke this season.
It is understood that the former El Ahly wide-forward is valued at £15million, with the Potters looking to pocket a £10million profit on the player they signed for £5million in 2016.
Sobhi has made 23 appearances in all competitions for the Staffordshire club this term, scoring three goals and supplying one assist in the process.
The biggest point about this report is that TeamTalk claims that signing Sobhi may help Liverpool keep hold of Salah after reported interest from across Europe.
The Sun has reported that Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all interested in the Anfield goal machine and are eyeing up a world record £200million move in the summer.
Football Insider verdict
Liverpool really cannot sell Salah in the summer and they should do what they can to keep him happy. If spending £15million on a player who can barely get into the Stoke team can keep him happy the so be it. Player power is not normally something that should be condoned but this is a special case as Salah is the kind of player who can lead Liverpool to their first ever Premier League title. Klopp just needs to make a few additions to his defence and midfield in the summer and he will have a team that could grab the crown and finally put an end to all the memes and noise that has plagued the club in the past few years.
In other Liverpool news, the Reds have made an approach for this centre-forward with a jaw-dropping £890million release clause.
