Scottish Premiership title race: Celtic and Hearts will be licking their lips after Rangers’ latest injury news

The Scottish Premiership title race has taken yet another twist ahead of the final pre-split fixtures on the weekend, with Rangers suffering numerous injuries.

The Gers could be without both Mikey Moore, Andreas Skov Olsen and Ryan Naderi for their upcoming fixture away to Falkirk.

Currently, Rangers have pulled themselves within one point of Heart of Midlothian after their 4-2 victory over Dundee United last weekend.

However, this has come at a cost, with Naderi being out for the foreseeable future, while Moore and Skov Olsen are also doubtful.

As a result, Celtic and Hearts will see this as a chance to pull clear of the club in another twist in Rangers’ Scottish Premiership title ambitions.

Rangers now face massive task at Falkirk

Falkirk has proved to be a surprise package this season in the Scottish Premiership.

Despite only returning to the top-flight this campaign, they have achieved plenty of shock results and will go into the last five matches in the top six.

Falkirk have had a great campaign to date

Only last weekend, they achieved an impressive 3-2 victory away to Motherwell, and are already preparing for their Scottish Cup semi-final tie against Dunfermline Athletic next weekend.

However, first they will face Rangers, who have already given trouble this season.

A 1-1 draw at Falkirk Stadium proved to be the end of Russell Martin’s reign at Ibrox, in what was an embarrassing display.

Yet, even under Rohl, Rangers could not beat Falkirk, drawing 0-0 at home in late November.

Now, there is a serious risk that the Gers could drop points again after a good portion of their attack may not be fit to play.

As a result, Celtic and Hearts will see Saturday will be licking their lips at the massive opportunity to potentially pull clear of Rangers, especially since Rohl’s side do not play until Sunday.

Could Rangers bring Mikey Moore back to Ibrox next season?

Former Everton, Aston Villa and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that Rangers have no chance of signing Moore permanently.

Currently, the winger is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, and has massively improved as the weeks have gone on.

This has resulted in many calling for the youngster to become a permanent presence at Ibrox to help boost their quality.

However, Wyness believes another loan move is the only possibility as he looks to have a good end to the current campaign.
