Sean Dyche exit: ‘No financial issue for Everton sack’ after 4-0 Man United loss

Everton are not restricted by any financial issues when it comes to the future of manager Sean Dyche, according to Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers.

The Toffees boss is under intense scrutiny following Everton’s 4-0 loss to Man United today, with the team languishing in 15th place in the Premier League. They are just two points above the relegation zone and have failed to win any of their last five matches.

Myers posted on X after the game on 1 December: “There is no issue financially regarding decisions of that nature,” responding to suggestions the Toffees might hesitate to part ways with Dyche due to budgetary concerns.

This comes after the Football Insider revealed, the Blues have been backed to pull of a “massive” coup with the appointment of FC Porto boss Sergio Conceicao to replace Sean Dyche.

The Friedkin Group’s takeover at Goodison Park is expected to be ratified by mid-December. With financial backing set to improve under the new ownership, money won’t be an issue if the club decides to sack Dyche, although the until then the decision is in the hands of Farhad Moshiri.

Everton should sack Sean Dyche after Old Trafford thrashing

Football Insider opinion

The former Burnley boss should be sacked as he is simply failing to get the best out of his team. Everton are the lowest-scoring side in the Premier League with just 10 goals, and they’ve failed to find the net in their last four matches.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been woeful, scoring only two goals in 13 games this season, and hasn’t reached double figures since the 2020/21 campaign.

Their defence has been equally poor, and even star man Jarrad Branthwaite made a costly error against the Red Devils, being dispossessed and contributing to another conceded goal, highlighting the team’s lack of morale under Dyche. Everton currently sit joint eighth for the most goals conceded this season in the Premier League.

Dyche’s side’s 3-2 defeat against Bournemouth earlier this season, where they squandered a two-goal lead at Goodison Park on 31 August, epitomised the manager’s inability to inspire consistency and manage in-game situations effectively.

The Blues’ collapse in that match, where they looked dominant only to falter and concede three unanswered goals, is a glaring sign of the lack of discipline and resilience within the squad.

In other news, Everton plan to sign a new striker in January.
