Sean Dyche faces Nottingham Forest sack after what he and Evangelos Marinakis were spotted doing at full-time vs Wolves

Sean Dyche could be in huge trouble at Nottingham Forest after his side failed to beat Wolves on Wednesday night.

Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 with Wolves at the City Ground, after the home side had missed countless chances.

Lorenzo Lucca, Morgan Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi each had opportunities, but Jose Sa was ultimately required to do very little.

Dyche is among the favourites to be sacked next in the Premier League, with owner Evangelos Marinakis already having dismissed Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou this season.

Football Insider revealed on Monday that Nottingham Forest would stand by Dyche, but that faith is being tested by consecutive poor results.

Evangelos Marinakis spotted after Wolves draw

The City Ground was left hugely frustrated by Wednesday’s draw, with the home side having taken an unbelievable 35 shots on the Wolves goal.

Nottingham Forest enjoyed four big chances and produced 2.73 expected goals, but somehow could not find the net.

In fact, they could have even lost the game when they were caught out in the final seconds by a Wolves counter-attack.

Mateus Mane bore down on goal and was faced with only Stefan Ortega, but fired straight at the German.

That will be of little relief to Nottingham Forest, who have been left just three points clear of West Ham and the relegation zone.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News after the game, Julian Warren said: “We’ve just seen Evangelos Marinakis, the owner, straight down and away from the stands at full time. Sean Dyche, straight down the tunnel at full time.”

Nottingham Forest will know, better than anyone else, just how impulsive Marinakis can be in tense moments.

Sean Dyche lucky to survive minutes after final whistle

Dyche can count himself lucky that he has not received the same treatment that Postecoglou did in October.

Just 17 minutes after the final whistle of Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, the Australian was relieved of his duties.

It did not require a genius to figure out that Marinakis had stormed straight down to the dressing room and dismissed Postecoglou himself.

By seeing out the night, Dyche will have got further than that, but his time in charge at the City Ground may not extend much further than that.
