Selfish 27-year-old axed in Bruce 4-3-3: Aston Villa best possible XI to face Bristol City
COMMENT by Amir Mir
Aston Villa should make two changes to their side when they take on fellow Championship strugglers Bristol City on Tuesday night.
The Midlands club recorded a much-needed three points against Derby County on Saturday afternoon as they will be looking to build on that win against Lee Johnson’s side.
The Robins recorded a 2-2 draw against Newcastle last time out as they will be looking to cause an upset at Villa Park.
Steve Bruce should axe the selfish Jonathan Kodjia who has been a problematic player for the club in recent weeks with Leandro Bacuna the other player missing out because of suspension.
Kodjia, 27, has this inability to work with his teammates, pass the ball to players in more advanced positions, which has been hurting the club in the final third.

Therefore, Bruce must axe the Ivory Coast international and bring in academy product Keinan Davis with the returning Conor Hourihane replacing Bacuna.
In midfield, Mile Jedinak should keep his place in the defensive role as he provides the freedom for the likes of Hourihane and Henri Lansbury to attack and provide the service.
Furthermore, Andre Green and Albert Adomah’s pace, directness and trickery could prove to be too difficult to handle of a weak Robins defence.
Other than that, Bruce must keep the same defensive line that secured the club’s first clean sheet since December on Saturday, with James Chester particularly impressing.
In other Aston Villa news, Conor Hourihane sent this message to fans after the Derby win.
