Massive double fitness update ahead of Tottenham v Chelsea showdown - report

By Dominic Toner

Chelsea pair Thibaut Courtois and Marcos Alonso are expected to be available for the FA Cup semi-final Tottenham on Saturday, according to a report.

The Daily Mail report that both senior players are in line to return for the Blues after missing the 2-0 defeat against Manchester United.

This represents a massive double fitness boost for Chelsea given how sorely they were missed  at Old Trafford.

Goalkeeper Courtois missed the United loss because of an ankle injury he suffered during a photo-shoot for an NBA basketball promotion.

Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Alonso was ruled out through illness and they missed his presence on the left flank.

Spurs will face Antonio Conte’s side for a place in the FA Cup final and there is an added spice to the fixture.

The two London rivals are also competing for the Premier League crown this season and Chelsea’s defeat to United breathed new life into the title race.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are now just four points adrift of the leaders and have all the momentum, having won their last seven consecutive league games.
