‘Shaking my head’, ‘They have no idea’ – Wolves fans all saying same thing as Nottingham Forest appoint Nuno Espirito Santo

Wolves fans are baffled that Nottingham Forest supporters are not keen on Nuno Espirito Santo as Steve Cooper’s replacement.

Forest confirmed they’d parted ways with the Welshman on Tuesday (19 December), who in just over two years took them from the foot of the Championship to consecutive seasons in the Premier League.

Santo was appointed on Wednesday (20 December) and joined the 17th-place side with an impressive résumé – taking Wolves back to the Premier League and into Europe in his four-year spell while endearing himself to the Molineux faithful.

Forest fans also had a special bond with Cooper after he ended their 18-year spell in the second division, but have not been overly impressed with Santo, whose tenures at Tottenham and Al-Ittihad were far less impressive.

However, Wolves fans have come to Santo’s defence and have taken to social media to proclaim that he would be a good fit for the struggling Midlands side.

This fan was convinced that he would prove a “huge” improvement on Cooper.

Some fans were amazed to see Forest fans “slandering” Santo considering his impressive spell at Wolves, which he deemed far better than Cooper’s.

Another admitted that Santo’s final stretch of his Wolves tenure was not his best, but was baffled by the criticism he faced.

One supporter wished Nuno well and admitted Forest is fortunate to have his services.

This supporter was shocked to see Forest fans have a problem with Santo and made a sly dig at Cooper’s credentials.

One fan claimed that Forest supporters were too busy in the Championship while Santo was at his best, hence why they don’t rate him.

This supporter urged fans to “respect” Santo and claimed he would fit in exceptionally at Forest.
