Celtic fans on social media have been left raging after Bobby Madden has been announced as the referee for next Sunday’s Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final.
The decision was announced a short time ago on the SFA website, and fans have plenty of views on the matter, with one supporter calling the decision to appoint Madden a “shambles”.
Here are some of the best reactions from Hoops fans to Madden’s appointment:
Nice attempt by the @ScottishFA to stop us from the double treble. An ex-Ibrokes season ticket holder 🤬 Expect a high amount of ‘honest’ errors.

Could’ve put money on Madden getting the Celtic v The Rangers semi, poor state of affairs when it’s that obvious to spot the bias

Shambles no even trying to hide it @ScottishFA

Madden has already taken charge of one Old Firm derby this season, the goalless draw at Parkhead in December, which passed by without much controversy, a rarity in the derby.
The Hoops will go into the game aiming to reach the final and move one step closer to making history and becoming the first ever Scottish side to win the domestic treble in two successive seasons.
Interestingly enough, the upcoming match will be the third season in a row where the teams have been paired in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
The first match, in 2016, saw the Gers win 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw which all but ended Ronny Deila’s time as Hoops boss.
Last season the Bhoys eased to a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Callum McGregor and a Scott Sinclair penalty, to set up a cup final against Aberdeen.
