‘Shambolic’ – Tottenham fans fume as Spurs trigger transfer clause: ‘Truly woeful’

Tottenham supporters are furious with their club’s transfer plans so far this window as Thomas Frank’s struggles continue in North London.

Frank is under tremendous pressure at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after just 29 games in charge, winning just 38 per cent of those, meaning that Spurs are sitting 13th in the Premier League table.

Just recently, Tottenham drew 1-1 with Sunderland, with Brian Brobbey netting an 80th-minute equaliser, but the biggest blow from that match was Mohammed Kudus‘ injury.

The Lilywhites could be without their star player for several matches heading into the second half of 2025-26, joining Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, and James Maddison on the treatment table.

Tottenham fans had already revolted against Jamie Donley‘s move to Oxford United, with a permanent option involved in the deal, and there is more fury after Alfie Dorrington’s latest update.

Tottenham recall Alfie Dorrington from Aberdeen

Spurs have recalled Dorrington just six months into his loan spell, having only been given a handful of starts in the Scottish Premiership, as well as some minutes across Europe.

It is safe to say that supporters are more infuriated by the club’s lack of energy to get deals done in the January transfer window, with one fan saying that Spurs are “truly woeful” when it comes to loans.

Another supporter has pointed out the “real problem” of the club focusing on loan players rather than bringing much-needed reinforcements into the first team, and many seem to agree.

Thomas Frank should listen to Jimmy Thelin’s comments

Jimmy Thelin is clearly a huge fan of the 20-year-old centre-back, having wanted him back at Aberdeen for a second consecutive season, but the Lilywhites have made a huge decision on his future.

Speaking back in July, Thelin said: “We’re pleased Alfie has returned to the club. He played an important part in the squad in the second half of the season, and with the campaign ahead…

“We will need strength in depth to be competitive across all competitions. Alfie settled well and made a real contribution, so it’s always pleasing when a player shows a strong desire to be at the club.

It is understood that several Championship clubs are keeping tabs on the youngster’s situation, but Frank might do well to listen to the player’s loan manager and keep him in North London.
