Sheffield United starlet Jebbison backed to sign for 'huge club' after Nixon update
Sheffield United starlet Daniel Jebbison has a big “opportunity” to score goals for a “massive club” like Sunderland.
So says ex-Blades icon Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 18-year-old striker’s prospects of a loan move this season.
The Sun’s Alan Nixon tweeted on 2nd August that Sunderland, Doncaster Rovers and Burton Albion are all in the hunt to secure Jebbison for 2021-22.
The youngster signed his first professional terms in May after enjoying a breakthrough campaign with United last term.
But he will likely remain behind Rhian Brewster, Oli McBurnie, Billy Sharp, Lys Mousset and David McGoldrick in the pecking order at Bramall Lane.
And Kenny claimed that a loan switch to the Stadium of Light and a season of League One football would be perfect for Jebbison.

“If he isn’t going to get a chance at Sheffield United then I say go for it,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“They have got a lot of players in that position, Sheffield United. He’s only 18 years old, an absolute baby. Not only that but he has only just turned 18 as well.
“If he has the chance to go to a huge club like Sunderland, what a big opportunity.
“He’ll be able to play in front of a big crowd every week, get some game time and some goals.
“I think it’ll be a good move for him, for his progression and for the good of his career.“
