Sources: Beerschot agree to sign Sheffield United starlet Seriki

Sheffield United midfielder Femi Seriki has agreed a loan move to Belgian club Beerschot, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Championship club have given the green light to the temporary exit of the 19-year-old.

A United source has told Football Insider that Seriki is heading to their sister club Beerschot after an agreement in principle was reached over a season-long loan.

The youngster penned a long-term contract with the Blades in May this year after impressing for the youth team.

He is one of a promising crop of youngsters to emerges from United’s academy in recent times along with Daniel Jebbison and Andre Brooks.

As revealed by this site yesterday (3rd August), United have agreed to sign former Leeds midfielder Ronaldo Vieira from Sampdoria on a season-long loan.

That comes after star man John Lundstram departed for Rangers following the expiry of his contract at the end of May.

Fellow midfielder Jack Rodwell also quit Bramall Lane at the same time after two seasons with the club.

Seriki continued his development in United’s youth system after signing from Bury in 2019.

He made his senior debut shortly before signing his first professional terms in May, coming on as a late substitute in a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United.

Seriki is accomplished as a wing-back as well as in a number of midfield roles.

In Beerschot he will join a side that finished 9th in the Belgian top-flight last term
