Simon Jordan mocks West Ham player on Twitter, Dean Ashton hits back

By Amir Mir

Simon Jordan has mocked West Ham ace Andy Carroll on Twitter by stating “he has the grace and mobility of a War Horse”.

The Former Crystal Palace chairman was responding to a comment from Dean Ashton who believes England are still crying out for a player of Carroll’s ability.

During the international break, Gareth Southgate’s side suffered a 1-0 friendly defeat at Germany before beating Lithuania 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier at Wembley.

Due to injuries, Southgate’s options up front were limited with Jermain Defoe, Jamie Vardy and Marcus Rashford the players picked in his squad.

After former Hammers forward Ashton advised that Carroll should be picked for the national set-up, this was Jordan’s response to his comments.

“Dean, Come on he has the grace and mobility of a War Horse,” Jordan wrote on his personal Twitter account.

However, Ashton hit back at Jordan by posting a picture of Carroll scoring a magnificent bicycle kick against Crystal Palace in January at the London Stadium.

Over the course of the season, Carroll has played 15 Premier League matches for his side, scoring a credible six goals, but once again injuries have disrupted his campaign.

He missed four months of action at the start of the season because he was suffering from a knee injury.

Upon his return, he found the back of the net on six occasions in 11 matches before a groin injury saw him sidelined for a further two games.

Slaven Bilic’s side travel to relegation-threatened Hull City on Saturday afternoon, looking to bounce back from their 3-2 defeat against Leicester City prior to the international break.

In other West Ham news, supporters have urged the club to sign this experienced forward after a return to goalscoring form.
