Simpson among trio who may leave Ibrox as lucrative offer reported – Rangers TV pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Hearts’ John Souttar could be the “perfect” signing as Rangers face losing three defenders this year.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender and Rangers TV pundit admitted the Light Blues need to have plans in place for potential departures.
As reported by the Edinburgh Evening News on Thursday (13 January), Rangers have tabled a lucrative pre-contract offer to Souttar.

The Gers hope to beat the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United to his capture.
Rangers’ interest comes with both Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun out of contract this summer.
In addition, the Daily Record (30 December) claim Jack Simpson could leave on loan this month amid interest from England.
Hutton suggested Souttar could help Rangers cover the loss of any of the trio.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “You need to remember Connor Goldson’s future is up in the air. Jack Simpson could possibly be away, Leon Balogun is out of contract in the summer.
“So they need to be looking forward. I think John Souttar can be just as good, if not better, than what they already have.
“He’s really going from strength to strength, playing really well.
“With his contract running out, if you get the opportunity to sign a player of that quality, I would try and get it done.
I know there’s interest from down south but if Rangers can get it over the line, perfect.”

Simpson has not played at all since Van Bronckhorst’s arrival at Ibrox.
The 2021 signing has made just 11 appearances for Rangers to date.
In other news, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been tipped to be “all over” luring another defender to Ibrox after £2million update.
