Sky Sports: Contact made over as huge transfer hunt for Newcastle favourite commences
Bayern Munich and Paris St Germain are among a host of sides who have made contact over a potential transfer swoop for Chelsea winger Kenedy after his impressive form at Newcastle United, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster claim on their website that the firm Magpies favourite has garnered the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including the German and French giants, and that there is already a huge transfer hunt brewing for the 22-year-old’s signature.
It is said the Brazilian winger, who has scored twice in his eight appearances while at St James’ Park, is yet to receive any outright bids but that numerous clubs have already asked to be made aware if he is put up for sale by Chelsea, for who he has made just 27 outings in three years.
Football Insider verdict
It goes to show the impact that Kenedy has made while on Tyneside that such prestigious names are hunting his capture, but it does mean that Newcastle’s hopes of snapping him up will have taken a heavy blow. Can the Magpies even think of competing with Bayern or PSG? Absolutely not, and if the giants of European football are serious about their interest, then Rafael Benitez will have to start looking elsewhere for a replacement. It would be a big blow, but unless the north east side can convince the youngster that St James’ Park is the right place for him to continue his career, money will talk, and he will be on his way.
