Sky Sports identify Leeds' transfer priorities, one man crucial to promotion hopes
Leeds United must keep star Samu Saiz fully fit between now and the end season and prioritise signing a striker and a left back if they want to secure promotion this season, according to a report.
In Sky Sports‘ analysis of the Whites’ Christmas wishlist, they have said that the Spanish attacker is crucial to the club’s hopes of securing a top six spot, having been an integral feature to their attacking threats this season.
With Saiz named as the “diamond” among the club’s multiple summer signings, it is said that Leeds need to be active in January and bring in a new left back to add competition for Gaetano Berardi, with Manchester United loanee Cameron Borthwick-Jackson having failed to have the desired effect, with just one league appearance under his belt so far.
However, despite having seen no fewer than four new forwards through the door at Elland Road in pre-season, Sky Sports also state that a new striker needs to be a priority over the winter window, with none of the current options at the club having proven their abilities as a Championship hit man.
Of those currently at the club, natural winger Kemar Roofe is joint top scorer alongside attacking midfielder Saiz with nine goals, with wingers Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez level with German target man Pierre-michel Lasogga on five.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites should forget their current transfer talks and swoop for a proven Premier League talent for a bargain.
