Sky Sports pundit delivers verdict on Tottenham midfielder

By Harvey Byrne

Sky Sports pundit Frank Sinclair believes Dele Alli has all the attributes to be up there with the best players in the world.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder produced a magnificent display against Chelsea on Wednesday with his two goals earning his side all three points in the 2-0 win.

He has been in impressive form in recent times with seven goals from his last four appearances for the club.

This has all led to former Chelsea defender Sinclair now believing that Alli can become one of the best.

“He can be as good as he wants to be,” said Sinclair on Sky Sports News on Thursday morning.

“He’s got all the attributes and is a natural goalscorer from midfield. Does the hard part of the game really well, works hard. Not scared to get his foot in and looks after himself well which for a young man is what you need in the Premier League and he’s on fire now.”

Alli was relatively unknown as he made the move to White Hart Lane from League One side MK Dons in the 2015 winter window for a fee of £5million.

However, after breaking into the Spurs side in the last campaign he has not looked back and has only grown from strength to strength.

The attacking midfielder was vital in Tottenham finishing third last season and was named the PFA Young Player of the Year as well as in the Team of the Year.

The 15-time capped England international has continued his magnificent form into this season with a return of 11 goals and four assists in 25 encounters.

He will now be looking to help his side challenge Chelsea at the top of the table with seven points currently separating the two London clubs.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs have made an emphatic decision in their reported £30million attacker pursuit.
