Sky Sports pundit Tony Gale has made a huge admission by stating that he wishes West Ham were like Tottenham.
The former Hammers defender praised Spurs for the manner in which they have performed this season despite their defeat at the London Stadium on Friday night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been trying to catch leaders Chelsea for the last few months, but after dropping valuable points it has opened up the door for their title rivals.
Nonetheless, Gale looked at the bigger picture and admitted that he has loved watching the north London club in action this season.
Here was Gale speaking to the Premier League Daily Show, which aired on Sky Sports News on Monday morning.
“I am happy West Ham beat them on Friday,” Gale told Sky Sports. “But, that’s because [I] played for West Ham.
“But, they have been brilliant, I wish West Ham was Spurs, I have to be honest. They have been absolutely brilliant and a joy to watch.”
Pochettino has built a vibrant and young squad at White Hart Lane, which has narrowly missed out on the Premier League title for the past two seasons.
If Chelsea beat Middlesbrough on Monday night and then secure all three points against West Brom four days later then they will be crowned champions.
Furthermore, Spurs also had the opportunity to win the FA Cup this term but were knocked out of the semi-final stages by the league leaders at Wembley.
The likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli have been key players for the club during the past few campaigns, scoring the bulk of the club’s goals.
Attacking midfielder Alli has scored 17 Premier League goals this term, which saw him crowned PFA Young Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
In other Tottenham news, Chris Waddle believes Spurs need to sign someone like this Premier League champion.
