Sky Sports pundit predicts Aston Villa clash against Reading
By Harvey Byrne
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted Aston Villa to suffer another defeat in Tuesday evening’s Championship clash against Reading.
The Midlands giants are currently preparing to make the trip south to the Madejski stadium which will see them take on a Reading side, who have suffered a draw and a defeat in their opening two league matches.
Villa have also seen the same results and when the two clubs last met in April Steve Bruce’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat at Villa Park with a double from Joseph Mendes and a single Lewis Grabban strike cancelling out an effort from James Chester.
Now, Prutton believes Aston Villa will suffer the same fate on Tuesday, predicting a 2-0 victory for Jaap Stam’s side.
“Aston Villa need a result here,” told Prutton, as quoted by the Sky Sports website.

“They were awful at Cardiff on Saturday and they’ve got to snap into gear at some stage. It was always going to be a tough game and Reading will be a tricky one for Steve Bruce’s side as well.
“Reading will think they can take advantage of a Villa side that haven’t gelled yet and get a first league win of the season themselves. And I fancy them to do just that.”
Aston Villa are coming off the back of a humiliating 3-0 defeat against Cardiff in Wales on Saturday, leaving them in 21st place in the Championship table.
Meanwhile, Reading sit one place above Bruce’s side on goal difference after being held to a 1-1 draw against Fulham at home despite playing against 10 men for 89 minutes.
Both promotion hopefuls will be eager to get their first win on the board on Tuesday evening and a victory for Villa could see them move up to fifth place depending on results elsewhere.
