Sky Sports Scottish football expert Andy Walker has given his prediction for the upcoming Celtic-Rangers clash at Celtic Park on Sunday.
Walker, writing in his column on the Sky Sports website, has predicted that the Hoops will win the game 1-0, and his tip for the key man is Bhoys midfielder Callum McGregor, who he claims has had a ‘tremendous season’ and is someone who won’t be phased by the occasion, as he is a ‘trusted player in this white-hot atmosphere’.
This game has a lot more riding on it than a usual Old Firm clash, as a win for the Hoops would see them clinch the league title for the seventh year in a row, whilst the Gers need the points in the battle for second place in the Scottish Premiership.
Football Insider verdict
In a way you can see where Walker is coming from with his prediction for the game, as there it a chance that it could be a close game, although it has to be said that the last two Old Firm matches have had a grand total of nine goals in them, so he might well be completely wrong here. One thing that can’t be argued with though is his choice of McGregor as the game’s key player, as the Scotland international has proved on numerous occasions that the Glasgow derby is his type of game, and one in which he thrives in.
